3 Midget AAA players represent Team Alberta
at 2015 Canada Winter Games
Three Midget AAA players represented SSAC on the national stage – Ryan Anderson, James Hamblin and Josh Paterson. These players were selected to their Alberta Cup team last year, selected to the top 80 camp last summer, short listed to 35 players and then eventually selected to play for Team Alberta. This past February, the team represented Alberta at the Canada Winter Games – a national event held once every 4 years. One of the 3 players was selected team captain. The team went on to win the silver medal losing to Team Ontario in the nationally televised final. All three boys were an important part of the team
SSAC along with Lloydminister were the only elite clubs to have 3 players selected to the team. The Calgary Buffalo club had 2 players from 2 different teams – Major Midget AAA and Minor Midget AAA. Most clubs either had one player chosen or none. While Calgary had 5 players, all were from different teams and most different clubs. These three players were the only representatives from Edmonton. The players proudly represented SSAC and traded SSAC pins at the games whereby the male hockey portion was held February 22 – March 1, 2015 in Prince George, BC.
